How Do I Change the Default Music on Hold?

You can assign and configure the music your callers hear when they are placed on hold. You can use the default system music or customized Music On-Hold. To change the default music on hold at group level:

  1. Log into your ProConnect portal at https://voice.consolidated.net
  2. Proceed to enter your username and password.
  3. Click image for large view
  4. Once you are in the portal, click on Calling Features.

  6. Navigate to Music On-Hold and Select Edit.

  8. To change the music under the General, or Internal Calls Settings, change the option from System Defined Music to Custom.
  9. Select Choose File and then locate the music file you want to upload.
  10. Click the Upload button.

Please Note: The following criteria cannot be exceeded for custom uploads:

For WAV files:

  • Linear PC 
  • 16.000 kHz
  • 16-bit mono

For WMA files:

  • Linear PCM
  • 16.000 kHz
  • 16-bit mono

For both WAV and WMA files:

  • The maximum audio length is 10 minutes for the Music on Hold greeting.
  • The maximum audio length is 10 seconds for the user's Voice Portal Personalized Name.
  • The maximum audio length is 2 minutes for a Voice Messaging Greeting and Custom Ringback User/Group.
  • For all other services, the maximum audio length is 5 minutes.
  • All files must be smaller than 10Mb in size.
